THE CHALLENGE: CONNECTED KNOWLEDGEOver the years, the intranet system at Microsoft Canada has grown more complicated and less accessible with a labyrinth of intranets, each often unhelpfully geared to a narrow group. Microsoft decided to create CanadaWeb - an easy-to-use and navigate intranet that could be updated by non-technical employees and showcase Microsoft technology.
THE REWARD: SHARABLE LEARNINGMicrosoft brought Navantis on board to develop a powerful intranet solution using Navantis' Knowledge@Work, which ensures all Microsoft products work together with seamless efficiency. The result is a productivity and collaboration tool - that will also be available as a product for Microsoft customers.
Through Canadaweb, Microsoft employees can:
- Revise or add comments to documents
- Track all documents revisions by person, date and time
- Access Microsoft tools and apps in one spot, at their fingertips
- Post content easily without HTML knowledge
- Gain a sense of community through web cams
"Canadaweb has created a better way for people to work. No matter what they're looking for, it's the only place they need to look."
Connie Rennie, Intranet Marketing Manager, Microsoft
