Information Architect/ Interaction Designer/ Usability Specialist

We have an immediate opening for the services of an Information Architect / Interaction Designer / Usability Specialist. The ideal candidate will have several years experience on large and small projects with both Information Architecture techniques and User Experience practices under their belt.

The candidate will have a passion for the latest web design and technology paradigms and be able to articulate that to team members and clients. This person will have the ability to lead a project through the initial discussion, and through the elaboration and design phases and into construction and devliery to insure the best possible customer solution is defined and executed.

The position requires that the candidate work with our Business Analysts and Software Architects to conduct requirements gathers and analysis, perform user and task analysis, create the information architecture, and analyze the solution so that it meets the usability acceptance of both the users and the client.

The candidate will have experience with and ability to execute/facilitate all of the following concepts/techniques:

• Prototype planning and execution in various formats (wireframes, skins, design concept images, working code models, paper prototyping etc.)
• Facilitation of client participatory solution definition sessions
• Taxonomies,  controlled vocabularies and faceted classification
• Defining and creating actors, personae,  user scenarios, and use cases
• Devise, Plan conduct and produce analyses reports on usability for our solutions.
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Raw required skills:

• Thorough and deep understanding of Web Standards
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, XSLT
• Experience developing with and conceptual understanding of server-side scripting (ASP, CF, PHP etc.)
• Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio)
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver quality work
• Strong client facing ability and experience
• Excellent oral communication skills with experience in creating clear concise documentation

 Bonus skills:

• Expert ability with HTML, CSS, XSLT
• Well-versed in Adobe Photoshop for web design/execution (typography, layout, layer etc., cutting into coded pages)
• Solid and demonstrable interface design aesthetics
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator,  Flash, Silverlight
• Familiarity and experience with Content Management systems (bonus for familiarity with Microsoft CMS, SharePoint/MOSS)
• Experienced with Rational (RUP) software development process
• Experience with UML modeling
• Experience facilitating  JAD sessions, and capturing and documenting feature sets
• Experience developing with .NET 2.0, 3.0, C# Languages
