BUSINESS ANALYST

THE POSITION

The Business Analyst plays a key-role in Navantis project teams. This person is the first-point of interaction with the customer obtaining realistic perspective of problem situations. He or she has to perform content, system and process related analyses in order to research and document data flows, business processes. Key is the ability to work with technical members of the development team to work out the technical solutions. Some of the typical functions of a Business Analyst in Navantis include,

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Some of the typical functions of a Business Analyst in Navantis include,

• Engage the client in UML/Use-Case analysis and manage all aspects of the project requirements through our RUP development cycle.
• Manage the requirements gathering and communication on behalf your development team. Work with the development team to hammer out any technical requirements that need to be solved prior to sign off of the requirements document.
• Work closely with clients and system end-users to identify and document their business and system requirements.
• Analyze, capture and document all the business and system requirements and suggest solutions options to solve the problems
• Advise clients about business process re-engineering and solution roll-outs
• Contribute to the conceptual design of the end solution
• Write detailed Business Proposals
• Coordinate the Proof-of-concept
• Testing and support to end-users during rollout of solution
• Work with the PMO and Project Managers to organize customer and internal team meetings to identify and validate business requirements.
• Provide on-going support to both the client and your development team during the duration of the project.

 YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Background working on software development implementation teams either as part of a Systems Integrator, Software (product) house or large internal IT projects.
• Strong understanding of each of the disciplines in an implementation team (Production, Development, QA, Network Ops, Project Managers and clients) and what each group needs from a Business Analyst to work effectively.
• Strong Use Case analysis and general UML/RUP skills
• General knowledge of business processes, workflow systems and software development processes
• Background in systems analysis, particularly implementation of workflow products required

• Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with people at different organizational levels
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines – know when to flag time constraint issues to the PM for effective resolution.
• Ability to balance strategic design goals against immediate business needs
• Excellent leadership skills
• Business background in one of desired (but not required)– Insurance, Financial Services or Healthcare – Experience with more a plus
• User-Centered Design experience is a plus
• Background in QA, Development, Production or Project Management preferred but not required.
• 5+ Years of Industry experience
