Navantis is looking for Project Managers to work along side our customers to develop and implement innovative technology solutions.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

At Navantis, the Project Manager is the focal point for all aspects of a project from inception to deployment. This includes managing the customer and project team to produce exceptional results. PM’s assist in the sales cycle and estimating, manage project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost, following our standard methodology and internal processes. Risks and issues are handled directly by the PM, with the help of the whole Navantis team as necessary and required and display foresight in anticipating risks that may impact project activities and determine appropriate mitigation strategies.

Planning, Management, and Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Establishes project teams for all development phases, plans schedules, and develops budgets and estimates
  • Formulates and manages project plans by defining deliverables, identifying key milestones, reviewing project progress, and engaging in ongoing risk management
  • Co-ordinates and directs project team(s) in order to meet project objectives for content, quality, costs, and schedules
  • Ensures management staff is provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates
  • Organizes internal and client activities ensuring completion of the project(s) on schedule and within budget constraints

Project Delivery Responsibilities:

  • Initiates meetings with users to discuss issues, invites suggestions, and gathers planning information
  • Analyzes problem domain information to extract details relevant to particular projects and proposes viable business solution
  • Leads and manages project teams in software planning, completing requirements gathering activities, and software analysis and design
  • Supervises software code implementation, data and software modeling, and testing activities
  • Ensures that all necessary technical specifications and documentation are competed in accordance with software development and project management procedures
  • Monitors project(s) from initiation through delivery, interfacing with the relationship manager and/or clients on all project-related matters
  • Guides project teams towards completion of all project tasks and proactively removes any obstructions that may interfere with project completion
  • Responsible for maintaining project timelines and ensuring that all project requirements are met and that the project team(s) has whatever is required to achieve project deliverables
  • Ensures that all project team members follow software engineering guidelines, standards, policies and procedures in carrying out their assigned software development tasks

Business and Corporate Development Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, maintains, and nurtures relationships with clients as a representative and on behalf of the firm
  • Assists in the definig of estimates and project scope
  • Assists the sales team in helping to close business
  • Interacts as a representative of the firm with third-party partners and/or other project participants in support of project assignments
  • Communicates routinely with the firm’s account and business development staff on the status of client relationship, upcoming work, and project status
  • Contributes to and supports software process improvement initiatives for software development activities

YOUR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working experience managing projects in a web or software development environment, ideally for a services company focusing on .NET technologies, such as SharePoint, Content Management Server, etc.
  • Post-secondary education.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent working knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies particularly PMI PMBOK, the Rational Unified Process (and UML) and the Microsoft Solution Framework 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Project and the MS-Office suite
  • Sound technical, problem solving, and analytical abilities
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to manage stressful situations to resolution
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in creating clear and concise documentation
  • Priority will be given to those applicants with PMI Certification or other professional PM certifications
