As Canada's national public broadcaster, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) has numerous TV and radio properties under its umbrella. All Canadians receive CBC - which is often the only media accessible in remote areas of the country. As a result, CBC has diverse programming broadcast to a wide audience in a massive geographic area, and the new e-retail site needed to work for the whole audience.

Working with CBC/Radio-Canada's Merchandising department, Navantis decided to use Microsoft Commerce Server and an existing installation of Microsoft Retail Management System in a scalable solution that would build the online e-retail brand and generate revenue to go to programming.
